Do you ever feel like the only color you ever wear in the winter is black? Me too.
I blame it slightly on living in New York and that being the color of choice, but I really wanted to soften my winter wardrobe up a bit. I shared another look earlier this week where I challenged myself to incorporate color into my winter look and today I’m trying to do the same but with a lighter, more serene vibe that channels a hint of spring and warmer days in a subtle way.
I was searching for a polished winter coat this year that was good for wearing with nicer clothes – you know, one that’s more appropriate for dresses and heels. I found this wool wrap coat in a beautiful cream color and was instantly sold. I’ve found it to be super versatile and loved the way it looked with this super soft dress and over the knee boots for something more casual (my usual go to).
This look is super simple and extremely comfortable – definitely my go to. We’ve had so many mild winter days that I can actually pull this off without tights, so thank you mother nature for going easy on us!
Finding coats can be extremely tough for me because of my petite proportions. They’re usually too long or too overwhelming, but this wrap coat is not only cozy as a cocoon, but great for my height. Nordstrom is my go-to for winter essentials and I was so excited to finally snag a beautiful and polished winter coat.Â
If I’m not wearing black I tend to gravitate toward a more neutral palette in the colder months. What colors define your winter wardrobe?
