Well, it’s official. Today is the first day of summer! Even though I mark the first day of summer over Memorial Day weekend there’s something about the “real” arrival that just makes me want to put on my favorite dress and head to the nearest patio for cocktails.

You know how there are certain types of dresses that just make you feel like the best version of yourself? That’s what this dress does for me. I was picking up some new pieces for summer from Nordstrom (as you know my favorite place to shop of all time) and spotted this adorable wrap dress by a brand that caught my eye last summer. If you haven’t heard of Privacy Please, get excited!

They’re one of my new go-to’s for comfortable and just plain “pretty” summer dresses. The prints are perfect and the length and fit is just right for me. For a summer date night this is exactly what I would wear (you can ask MG!). You’ve seen these heels on me a lot over the past few months because they’re easy to walk in and the lace up touch makes them feel dressier for an easy day-to-night transition. They’re easily my favorite sandals of the summer.

In other news, I’ve been busy working on something new that is hopefully coming next week (finally!). It’s been a month or so in the making and has taken me a while to finalize but I’m really excited about it. I’m headed back to my old stomping grounds in Chicago this weekend to celebrate one of my dearest and first friends from the Windy City. I stopped and realized the other day that we met just about 6 years ago! I can’t wait to shower her with love (and lots of drinks) for her bachelorette this weekend.

July 4th is around the corner and I’m already thinking about what to wear and pulling out as many of my patriotic pieces as possible. I’m super excited to have my family in town for the long weekend and cannot wait to see them. What are your 4th of July plans?
