“Dog Days” (Latin: diÄ“s caniculÄrÄ“s) are the hottest, most sultry days of summer. In the northern hemisphere, they usually fall between early July and early September. In the southern hemisphere they are usually between January and early March.
As August is almost halfway over, I’m reminded that the “dog days of summer” are almost over. Growing up in Texas, I’m used to the heat, but it’s always great to have an outfit that can help make that a little easier on you. This dress was perfect because of the light color and material. I decided to throw my hair up as well because it’s gotten ridiculously long, and too long to have it stuck to my neck in the sun. It was the perfect opportunity to display some gorgeous earrings that I received from a family friend for my graduation from college. They are by a designer named Elizabeth Showers and I love her jewelry. She uses jewels in pretty much all of her pieces and they are all stunning additions to any outfit.
This post is also dedicated to my favorite song right now that never fails to put me in a great mood:
Florence + the Machine, Dog Days of Summer
