It’s not often that I find myself in such a laundry pickle as I did last week, but it happened. I was running late for work and literally, everything I could think of to put on my body was in my dirty clothes basket. I ended up throwing this layered, random assortment of things together and ran out the door! I blame it on this dreadful winter (yep, most snow in 30 years and 4 days away from the most sub-zero days in Chicago history) and the layers I’ve been drowning in. It amounts to massive amounts of clothes piled up week after week. If I hadn’t broken down and finally bought these jeans and a jacket from ASOS I’d been eyeing I would’ve sent it all out for someone else to deal with. Yes, I have been known to pay for my time… and I am not ashamed.

What started as a really pretty silk dress over tights ended up with a sweater AND a cardigan over it … and a winter coat. If I had walked out in that dress.. phew I would’ve been in for a treat. I think that day was feels like ’11’! I’ve been wanting to wear these shorter Dolce Vita booties with a dress or skirt and have been waiting for it to stop snowing so that I could. The end result may or may not have looked like I was wearing two sweaters over a lace slip, but I kinda liked it. My recent outfits have been extremely girly and so I was needing a bit of a change.

Please tell me you guys have days like these too! I made up for it this weekend and did a total of 6 loads of laundry — ouch. I’m looking forward to warmer weather and some fun upcoming weekends. We’re going skiing in Wisconsin at the end of the month and I’m headed to Los Angeles in a month with the Nike Training Club crew! I cannot wait to have the sun on my face and the sand in my toes. Hope you all had a great one!

P.S. – Happy birthday to my amazing Mom! She’s still killin’ it everyday and inspiring me to be a better person and do what I love. Love you!
