My favorite sales are the ones that start at the beginning of the season. It’s rare that you can shop the things that you want now and not have to wait until the big holiday sales later in the year.
I don’t know what it is about this year – maybe it’s the whole turning 30 thing, but I’m really trying to hone in on pieces that I know I’ll love for a while. I’m picking up sweaters, coats and boots that I know I’ll still love come next fall and won’t feel like I need to start fresh.
This season it’s all about my favorite color (black) and the colors that complement it. I have neutral layers that work well with the basics and I realized that I’m still lacking on a few basics that I seriously need. My fall palette is black, white, camel, burgundy and olive with hints of gray. Basic? Maybe. Me? Totally.
Shopbop has a few sales a year where pretty much everything is on sale, no threshold. It’s definitely a time to take a hard look at what you might want in the coming months and just snag it while you don’t have to pay full price. I know it’s been extremely warm everywhere, but saving $150 on that wool coat is an entire month of coffee!
So let’s get to it!
IN MY CART
It’s all about staples and the things I know that I gravitate towards. I have been on the hunt for a camel wool coat for almost 2 years – at least 5 have been returned at this point, including this J.Crew version that is not the wool I was expecting. I tried this Club Monaco one on in store and although the price tag was high I knew if I took care of it I would be able to wear it for several years. It’s also insanely warm and fits me well!
PIECES TO SCOOP UP QUICKLY
It’s very rare that Stuart Weitzman boots go on sale, so if you were thinking about it this is definitely a good chance to get them at a discount. For other on trend items right now that might go fast, anything velvet or cozy affordable sweatshirts will surely sell out in certain sizes early on as well.  I saw this blouse after I had placed my order, but this one shoulder lace top is a stunner!
