The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is one that is near and dear to my heart – it was the sale that my mom always took me to growing up for back to school shopping and I’ve shopped it every year for the past 17 years! I’m a cardmember so I get to take a sneak peek at the items before they’re purchasable and was able to fully scour the sale for the best of the best. There are so many goodies it can be overwhelming!

I will say from experience, you’re better off to snatch up anything you like as quickly as you can. Returns are easy and you will be surprised at how quickly everything goes! Happy Anniversary Sale-ing!

My favorite thing to look for every year are shoes — they have amazing Fall shoes before the season hits and at lower prices, which is amazing. I’m always looking for boots and this year there were a handful that I couldn’t decide between! My absolute favorite of the riding boots are the Cole Haan woven riding boots and the Ivanka Trump over the knee suede boots (in black or grey) with a heel. Both are gorgeous and great staple additions to your wardrobe.

There are also usually a handful of great heel options or flats that you can scoop up. I wasn’t in the market, but I really loved these Halogen flats and if you don’t have any ankle strap sandals, this Joie pair is calling your name.

The other great thing about the sale is the coat selection. If you’re looking to try a new style, now’s the time! I love this Helene Berman wool cape for Fall, and if I was in the market for a mixed media coat, this leather sleeve and wool Eileen Fisher would be my choice. I also saw a few great vests.. one black one, a faux leather one and the stunner surprise for me was this James Perse puffy vest. It’s beautiful in person and definitely worth it!

I typically find myself hitting the clothes last, but this year I found there are more pieces than usual that I’m loving. I ended up snagging these Rag & Bone moto jeans with zippers at the bottom and this Trouve scuba top. Trouve is one of my favorite Nordstrom brands! I pick up at least 1-2 pieces of theirs on the sale every year and they last year after year. I have 2 pairs of leggings that I wear all Fall/Winter and am definitely going to snag these faux leather leggings, too!

I’m still debating on other choices! This Leith laser cut shell is adorable and if you’re looking for a good black staple top, you can’t go wrong with this Elie Tahari number. If you’re looking for designer pieces, take a peek at the Haute Hippie silk blouse or the Helmut Lang top – classy and a little edgy at the same time.

One thing that typically gets missed, but shouldn’t, are the accessories, beauty, and home items. These are things you know you’d probably be looking for but are marked down. I was surprised and excited to see Voluspa candles and Diptyque candles in this year’s round up as well as my absolute favorite new perfume, Kate Spade Live Colorfully! It has such a beautiful scent and is great for everyday wear. There’s also some Jo Malone, MAC makeup brushes, and the Sultra bombshell wand curling iron in the mix of items in the beauty and home sale.

Last but not least, I rounded up my favorite of the men’s items. There was a pretty solid array of casual and dressier pieces for our favorite guys or the significant others in your life. Any guy would love a classic Burberry tie or casual RVCA pullover. I love a good suit and there are also a handful of shoes and wingtips that would pair well with the other suit options they have on sale.
