Getting dressed up in the winter can be tough. It’s hard enough to motivate yourself sometimes to do more than throw on a sweater and jeans and call it a day. After a while though I usually get an itch to wear something that’s a little more exciting.
If you don’t own a great (faux) leather skirt, I highly recommend making the investment. While it sometimes reminds me of my early 20’s, I’ve found that there are plenty of ways to style a skirt like this that’s appropriate for where I am today. I especially love how simple it is to throw it on with a my favorite pair of boots and just about any top.
An easy way to dress it down is to go extra casual with the top. I scooped up this extra soft button down shirt for $15 and with a quick tuck am on my way. The shirt is a casual favorite and pairs well with jeans and sneakers, too.
The weeks are flying by and I can’t believe we’re already nearing the end of January! So far 2018 is proving to be busy and relaxing at the same time – we’ve been making plans here and there but it’s been the most welcome break to just keep the weekends open. Today I’m especially thankful for a break in the cold weather and to be less layered!
