If you live anywhere on the East Coast you’re in the same boat as us – all of a sudden it went from a warm Fall straight to Winter. I couldn’t bear to break out my winter coats right away and was so sad to have missed the boat on getting to wear sweaters and skirts.
I did a huge closet cleanout recently and donated a bunch of scarves that I’ve had for years. I noticed that I hadn’t really worn any of them and that they were either too big or not warm enough for the winters here in the city. I’m trying to become more of a minimalist when it comes to accessories and focus on the few pieces that I know I’ll wear the most and will just plain do their job.
I scooped up this scarf at the beginning of the season and I haven’t put any other one on since. It’s just thick and warm enough for me, but also super soft and easy to throw on (aka I don’t feel like I’m wearing a comforter around my neck). It’s also perfect for adding to a lighter layer like this jacket on a day when the sun is out because it really warms you up. Any day that I can forgo my winter coats in advance of the real arrival of winter is fine by me!
10 SCARVES UNDER $50
If you’re checking people off of your list and aren’t sure what to get them, honestly a warm and beautiful scarf is a pretty safe bet for almost anyone, male or female. I’ve rounded up these 10 under $50 and will continue to share some other favorites in my upcoming gift guides.
Now that we’re so close to December (!!!) I’m really excited to switch into full blown Holiday mode. We’re getting our tree this weekend and will be decorating the apartment and the Christmas tunes will start. We have a few holiday traditions that we started when we met that I look forward to now every year.
With 1 month to go I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting on this year, which I’ll share at some point when things slow down enough for me to write it! :) Hope your weeks are off to a great start!
