Life Lately Vol. 6

long sleeve mini dress, brunch spots nyc, best brunch spots for groups, brunch new york city

This short week was secretly a doozie. I don’t know if it was because the long weekend made it harder to get back into the swing of things or what, but I’m so happy it’s Friday. I got a little Barry’s workout in thank goodness and other than that we’ve been low-keying it lately, which has been verrry nice.

It was one of those weeks where I wanted to spend my time learning things after work (I’m slowly starting to dip my toe into finally learning photography and editing for real) and there was no spark for writing, so here I am with just life updates today!

Birthday Brunch

I had a belated birthday celebration last weekends with some girlfriends at Hotel Chantelle for brunch. I love their rooftop – it’s perfect for an afternoon brunch and they have an amazing prix fixe menu for a group. Still thinking about those chicken and waffles!

I wore this dress for the day and absolutely love it. I’m a sucker for a long sleeve dress and boots in the winter and the cutout in the front gives it some interest.

New Must-Try Sushi Spot

Before the New Year MG and I went to Sugarfish now that it’s open in NYC! I have to say, it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. It was truly a life changing sushi experience and if you have the time you have to go. The wait is insane so you have to put your name down and go get a drink and come back but it’s totally worth it.

Travel Plans

We’re starting to look at the calendar and the trips we have planned for this year (mostly around weddings). I’m excited to be heading back to Chicago again, hopefully Houston, and to Charleston for the first time! I just got an Away suitcase  in dark green and cannot wait to break it out for our first trip.

Casual Fridays

We’ve been big on low-key Friday nights this month because after the holidays we were ready to turn down – like way down. We went to Nom Wah Nolita (a fast casual dim sum and ramen spot) and were very impressed. It was quick, easy and super delish. We also hosted some friends over last weekend and I finally got to use our marble cheese board. For the record, MG told me not to order it and I didn’t listen.. and now he’s very happy with it. #relationshipadvice

New New

I splurged on some Celine sunnies for my birthday and am so excited about them! They’re classic and timeless, which is exactly what I was looking for. I haven’t bought a pair of sunglasses in a long time because I have been renting them through Shop Ditto for the better part of a year, so it’s nice to have some that are all mine! (right now I have these and love ’em.. you can get a month free with the code VIEWFROM5FT2!)

Also, I found the perfect sandy nude nail polish – OPI Tiramisu For Two. It’s hard to find so one that’s definitely worth buying!

What’s on your agenda this weekend?
