If there’s a staple combo that just makes me happy it’s this. I live for the early fall weather where you can pair sweaters with skirts and you don’t need a coat. It’s the best!

I don’t know about you guys, but I feel like most girls fall into one of two camps: 1) you tolerate wearing tights in the winter or 2) you do everything possible to avoid it at all costs. I fall into the second camp. I just can’t stand them and don’t find them comfortable at all. It’s also so hard to find tights that you like and they can be expensive. They’re just not for me.

I was pleasantly surprised that we finally had a day last week that crept up in the 50’s and I took that opportunity to pull out this suede skirt, an early fall favorite of mine. I scooped up this wrap front sweater a few months ago and also love pairing it with a silk cami underneath.

The final touch was this pair of booties that I was initially hesitant to hit purchase on, but now I’m absolutely loving! They’re probably the most comfortable pair of booties that I own and having a pair with a pop of color has been such an easy twist to my mostly neutral outfits these days.

This weekend was perfect in my book – I cannot believe that we’re down to the very end of the year. The last few months have been a happy and exciting blur, so this weekend was a really nice chance to slow down and really enjoy being here and the holidays kicking off. We got our tree and decked out the apartment, which put a huge smile on my face as soon as we were done. Last year we were a lot more conservative with the size of our tree and this year we decided to go bigger. It’s probably a tiny bit big for our little room, but go big or go home right?

We’ve both lived in such small apartments previously and definitely don’t take for granted the fact that we have the space to get a tree. It’s not the case for everyone in the city, so we feel pretty lucky. In other news we had some friends over and I made a really easy cranberry herb goat cheese appetizer and a crab dip (that didn’t turn out as great) and made the most amazing winter mules. We got a jump on our holiday shopping as well and also found a way to squeeze in 2 Christmas movies yesterday on top of Red Oaks Season 3. If you were wondering, we didn’t leave the apartment and it was amazing :). How are you preparing for the holidays?
