I’m all for an unconventional twist on a typical style, so when I stumbled across these scalloped shorts when searching for some dressier shorts for this summer, I couldn’t resist scooping them up with the idea of styling them as a shorts suit. I think of the work “suit” and think stuffy, black and ill-fitting. Is it just me or is that what you think of too? I love the idea of changing it up and making it wearable outside of the office … and with color!
All it takes is a fitted blazer with a cute skirt, skort or pair of shorts. They can be the same color like in this all white version I wore last Spring, or two tones of similar shades like this one!
I’ve had an itch to find the perfect white blouse and really loved how this one has a little bit of something special to it. The embellishments make for an easy way to dress up a simple look. I was really worried about traveling with it, but surprisingly enough using tissue paper in between the folds worked like magic! Not to mention, this shirt comes in a petite size which means it actually fits like a tailored shirt.
I’m looking forward to using these pieces with things I already have for even more everyday looks. These shorts with simple t-shirt and statement necklace and these flats I have worn almost everyday this week will be a great patio/weekend casual look!
It was so enjoyable to wear something other than pants for once while I was in Texas. The warm weather just makes my heart happy (and Tex-Mex and seeing my family of course). We’re supposed to see a few days like this one here in Chicago this weekend and I cannot wait. The patios and bright hues are calling my name!
