Well, it’s been a little bit but I’m finally back and getting into my routine again! The past few weeks have been totally crazy – in and out of town, lots of visitors, you know the drill. I’ve barely had time to catch back up before I’ve been behind again. Thankfully we’re back for a few weeks in a row and I’m looking forward to hitting reset and soaking up the last week of October and the last 2 months of the year!

It’s hard to believe that just last week I was wearing sleeveless tops to work. We’ve had a warm fall (which makes me terrified of this winter), but it’s been a nice chance for me to try out a few new looks. Admittedly when it gets colder all I want to wear are jeans. I have far too many pairs, but I wear them 5 days a week every week of the winter. I’m a huge baby when I’m cold and just wear anything to bundle me up.

This year I promised myself I’d try to branch out a bit and try to be a little more creative when the temperatures start dropping. I scooped up this skirt for that exact reason. I have a similar one from last summer that I adore and thought picking up a fall/winter version might encourage me to rotate something else into my weekly wardrobe over the next few months.

When we moved into our new place I promised myself that I wouldn’t sleep in until the last minute, I’d wake up early and respond to emails or work on things and enjoy a coffee and our view, and just be generally more on top of my workloads. With an insanely busy 2-3 months at the end of this summer and this fall I’ve barely kept to the new routine I had started. I’ve been hitting snooze regularly again just to catch back up on sleep, but like anything it’s all about breaking the pattern. This week I was up early and I’m planning on sticking to my morning schedule every day.

What habits or patterns do you fall into that you are trying to break? Happy Monday!
