While Christmas, Thanksgiving, July 4th and my birthday are at the top of my favorite holiday list, Easter has a particularly special place in my heart. Growing up we spent almost every holiday with our neighborhood “family” – a group of 10-15 families that have seen the oldest and youngest kids through college and now marriages and babies.

Our crew knew how to do holidays. Whether it was a potluck Thanksgiving where you could eat 3 plates full of food and there would still be leftovers or Easter sunday where every kid went home with a duck from brunch (true story, ask my Mom she was livid.. and ask my sister what atrocious name she gave that poor duckling) they were all memorable.

For that reason, every Easter I can picture myself in my little dress that I picked out with my mom, undoubtedly a huge bow, and my tiny little eyes that lit up at the sight of the dessert table. Although these days I’m doing Easter a little differently, it’s still a very special day for a lot of obvious reasons that most people forget and I love to dress up a bit for the occasion.

If you’re like me over the past few years and living far away from your family, you may be spending Easter with friends in the city or at home hosting people for a casual brunch. Last year I did a little brunch with the girls and although I’ll be celebrating with MG and his family this year, I like to have a piece on that feels appropriate for the occasion. This lace top is easily one of my favorite pieces that I scooped up from Anthropologie in the past few months, especially because the petite fit makes the bell shape hit me just right.

I can’t believe it’s already Easter! This week will be MG and I’s one year anniversary.. can you believe it? Some things sneak up on you out of nowhere. Stay tuned for a long overdue personal post tomorrow!
