Time to put away the rose, it’s red season baby. Football has started and I’m embracing the change in seasons with new colors and new pieces for the next few months.

I wore a ton of white this summer and have tried to neutralize my wardrobe a bit so that I can wear more pieces year round, but there are certain shades that are made for autumn and this shade is one of them.

If you haven’t been into an Ann Taylor store in a while, you’re in for a real treat! My office is right off the corner where 5th Avenue and Broadway meet and very close to a lot of the Flatiron stores. I love perusing down 5th on my way home from work this time of year and getting a solid 10 block walk in before finally hopping on the train.

I think I had the same feeling walking into the store and seeing all of the new September icon arrivals that a lot of people do when Starbucks returns the PSL every year – butterflies in my stomach and images of layering, knits, and cozy nights dancing through my head. I snagged this beautiful lace dress for some fall festivities (it also comes in a skirt), this striped blouse for more everyday wear, and this sleeveless sweater and this vest to kick my layering game up a notch! It’s crazy how just a few pieces can make the rest of my wardrobe feel more exciting and fresh.

In other news, our dining table and chairs arrived last week! We broke them in over pasta and the US Open last week, and I have to say that being able to eat a meal at a real table feels so luxurious. I’m feeling more adultlike than ever, which is a good thing considering my 4 month countdown is on. This was a short week of posts because I’ve been out of town for the past week, but stay tuned for more fall favorites next week!
