newness

(via Pinterest)

When I first started this blog, I had a lot of reasons why I was going to embark on the journey. It was a creative outlet for me, I was passionate about sharing some of my personal style and things I found interesting, and I really think that petites are often done a disservice in the fashion community at times. I’ve found myself over the years incredibly frustrated with lack of options, a lot of money invested in tailoring almost everything I own, and having a hard time finding exactly what you want in something that will fit you. As you know, I am not ashamed to shop in the Kids sections if it means I’ll find what I’m looking for. For a long time I really didn’t want to alienate anyone from reading my blog by only focusing on petite things. However, I’ve realized that I in turn have done all of my petite little friends a disservice by not addressing how I navigate my way around this tall and large footed world.

SO, I’m starting a new petite section where I’m going to continue to expand with my favorite shops that stock stuff in our sizes, my favorite petite friendly picks at the moment and eventually some great resources for how to dress for your body type. In between “Shop” (where you can still find all of my favorites at the moment) and “Travel” (where you can see my favorite spots in the cities I’ve visited since starting this blog) you’ll now find PETITES! I hope you guys enjoy this new section and find it helpful. I’d love to get more feedback from you on what you would like to see as well.

Another fun addition this week is an amazing new Makeover tool that I’ve been given the opportunity to share with you. Hairstyles and makeup can be really tricky – sometimes you don’t know what you’ve done until it’s over and you’re home staring at yourself in the bathroom mirror thinking.. whaaaat the heck kinda lighting was I in before?! I feel ya girl. We’ve all been there. The amazing thing about this tool is that you can shop for real live products, put them on yourself and decide if you think you’d like the color on you. These days with free shipping and returns you don’t have to trek all the way down to the department store to see if the burgundy lipstick looks right on you or if you look too vampy – you can test it out from your bed and have it shipped to your door from your typical retailers. I’m really excited about it, I love trying out new products and change my hair just about every 6 months to keep it interesting :).

I hope your guys had a wonderful weekend! It was a rainy one here in Chicago which definitely put a damper on my plans, but was perfect for relaxing and catching up. Hope you enjoy the new updates!
