I recently cut four inches off of my hair and thus have been looking for some more interesting ways to style it in the mornings. Last weekend, I was running out for coffee before meeting a friend for brunch and looked in the mirror thinking.. yikes that long night of sleep was great but my hair looks really rough and I don’t have time to fix it. I only have 10 minutes tops to be out the door!
I have a quick little trick that I use when I want to throw my hair up in something other than a normal ponytail. Here’s what I do:
- Take about an inch of the front section on each side of your part. Start twisting away from your face
- As you twist slowly add in the other hair alone your hairline until you get past your ear almost in a rolling motion along the side of your hairline
- When you get past your ear about an inch, use two bobbi pins and secure the strand behind your head crossing them in an ‘x’
- Repeat on the other side
- Last step is to take the rest of your hair, twist it into a circle in the shape of a bun and use a hairtie to secure in a low bun at the nape of your neck
Ta-da! 5 minute hair and a quick way to look more polished with only a teeny bit of effort. Be sure to show me your ‘do if you give it a shot!

This looks great on you! My hair might be too long for this, but I’m going to try it tomorrow!

Ahh I want to see how it goes! The bun will just be bigger :)
I love this!! Your hair looks gorgeous – I’d love to try it myself! Braids and the like are so hard for me, but maybe this style will be the ticket!
