Best Of: The Hat

fedora, floppy hat, floppy fedora, hat style, hats

When I first started blogging, I had an unhealthy obsession with fedoras. I was traveling to and from San Francisco pretty frequently and on one of my trips discovered Goorin Brothers for the first time. I was intrigued and loved how you could add a quick little something easily to an outfit and really change the overall look. However, I found out really fast that they’re a pain to travel with and I also found my tastes changing and now hate almost every single fedora I own (my count is at 8).

It wasn’t until recently that I started seeing a new kind of fedora re-surface that has a wider, floppier brim. I have both fedoras and floppy brim hats, but never one that was a combination of both. The result? Amazing. It softens the look of the hat and I think frames the face shape in a more flattering way (for me at least) and has a little more structure than a traditional floppy hat with just a round top. I have spent so much time hat stalking lately I thought I would share some of my favorites with you guys. What do you think? Willing to try out a floppy fedora?

SHOP HATS

Floppy Brim Fedora |  One, Two, Three

Panama Hat  |  Four, Five, Six

Floppy Hat  |  Seven, Eight, Nine

Traditional Fedora  |  Ten, Eleven, Twelve

Love your choices. I bought a Goorin Bros. hat last year and I love it.

Which color?!

I will totally try the floppy fedora! Last summer I bought the J. Crew panama hat and I like it, but the brim is just a little too straight. I like the idea of something that is more softening and this style of hat sounds exactly what I’m looking for. Sort of the perfect cross between masculine and feminine.

I’ve always wondered how it fit! I thought about buying it so that’s good feedback. I completely agree.. can’t wait to see if you end up buying one like this!
