Last week I had the extreme pleasure of hosting an exclusive event at Madewell! It was truly a ‘pinch yourself moment’ to be able to style mannequins, pick out a rack of favorites and see signs with my blog name at a store that I love and respect so much.
I spent at least 45 minutes just wandering the store like a kid in the candy store trying to decide what I would pull in for the rack. I ended up with an assortment of goodies like this top, this sweater, and these adorable dotted shorts (have you had enough of my spot obsession yet?) that I loved being able to show people. One of my favorite things about the event was when people saw something on the rack that they didn’t see when they were browsing and ended up purchasing!
It was just such a blast getting to meet new faces and see my friends play dress up in the store. I ended up styling two mannequins separate from the rack — meet miss festival and miss flirty summer fun! The festival look was inspired by the many street fairs, farmer’s markets and concerts that pop up around the city. It hasn’t been incredibly hot, so at night having a chambray shirt to layer over a look is almost necessary. The crossbody bag is one of my favorite accessories in the store right now and can easily double as a clutch. The flirty summer fun look is inspired by being fresh off of the beach (or boat) and needing to throw on something simple, but chic. It’s simple sundress with a knotted shirt and a pop of color in a necklace and clutch so that you can go from beach to dinner immediately.
