While my friends might say that I’m more often overdressed than underdressed, I find that my style is usually much more laidback on the weekends. I really enjoy just being able to unwind and not have to think about much of anything and that includes what I end up wearing. Sometimes I just want to throw something on and run out the door for brunch or whatever we’re up to, but still look put together. This past weekend Blair and I ventured over to Wicker Park to see our Chi Chi Sport friends at Dose Market and followed it up with a delicious brunch at one of my all time favorites – Prasino.
I’ve been replacing a lot of my shorts that were really worn down with more tailored and sleek versions. I still love a good pair of cutoffs, but I also am way too winter pastey for those still! I’m actually way too winter pastey for anything right now, but do you think that’s stopping me? Absolutely not. I typically use St. Tropez bronzing mousse to give myself a little glow without killing my skin but I’m low on stock and needing to order another bottle. I swear by that stuff now that I only get 3 months of sunshine!
I stocked up on some lighter winter sweaters that are great for layering and are still wearable during this transition of seasons. If I could wear long-sleeves and shorts everyday of my life, I would. It’s my absolute favorite combo! Until the temperatures really heat up, I’m going to keep this on repeat.
I am SO looking forward to this long weekend! I’ve mentioned before but a lot of my friends are going through big life changes right now and this is a rare weekend when most of them will be in town. I can’t wait for some “Chicago summer-like” time at the beach and boppin around the city. Happy early Memorial Day weekend, have a fun and safe one!
