On My Wish List: Neutrals

neutrals, shopping roundup

This year is all about wearability–as much as I love a bright pop of color and a playful print, right now I’m trying to stock up on pieces that I know I’ll love next season and that I could see carrying me into the spring.

Without a doubt, neutrals are the base of any solid wardrobe. Think of them as a blank canvas and with enough of them you can mix and match outfits so easily making your closet feel twice as big. A white bucket bag may seem like an odd color choice for this time of year, but I’m loving that the winter white will be the perfect transition into the warmer months and this summer.

There are certain things that have been on my wish list for quite some time and until they go on sale probably won’t fall off. These suede booties are one of them. I just keep picturing them with a pair of distressed jeans and a crisp button down shirt and almost click purchase every time!

My latest purchase is a bit premeditated, but can you blame a girl for already dreaming of Spring and Summer? Last year I had a really hard time finding a pair of espadrilles that were in a neutral color and fit my tiny little feet. I’m happy to report that these camel smoking slippers fit like a glove and will be a staple in my rotation once these freezing temps let up.

Things I’m looking forward to this weekend: catching up on more Mad Men, a birthday dinner with friends, potentially getting my hair colored (what?!) and hopefully getting to play in the snow. What are your plans this weekend?
