Peplum Bow Top

When it comes to my style, it’s hard to not be influenced by the people I spend the most time with. I would see my friends 4-5 times a week for dinners, after work drinks, and just hanging out in our neighbhorhood or at one of our apartments. Outside of sharing clothes (which is the best), we all started rubbing off on each other quite a bit.

The next thing you knew, some of my friends were wearing a little more black (I’m the culprit here) and I was wearing a few more bows than I used to (cough, Arleigh). We all found a common love for peplum tops somewhere along the way – seriously there were days we would all show up wearing one.

The funny thing about it is we’re all different heights, shapes and sizes and they look great on everyone. I’ve decided it’s one of my favorite summer top styles for that exact reason. I also can’t stand being hot in sleeves and love walking as much as possible on summer days, so sleeveless peplum tops are the best – this Madewell version is a summer staple.

This particular outfit is perfect for post-work dinner and drinks or swap out the heels for sandals and it’s a great outdoor party outfit. Speaking of post-work dinners, I’m head to Le Colonial tonight with three of my closest friends here – Valerie, Andrea and Melanie. If you haven’t tried it, it’s a must and one of my favorites in Gold Coast along with Lux Bar, Fig & Olive, and Gibson’s.
