The View From 5 Ft. 2

Summer Maxi Dress

One of the best things about summertime is the ability to throw on a simple dress and walk out the door. Being on the shorter side, I have a love/hate relationship with maxi dresses. I usually get them tailored to wear with heels, but I love being able to put one on and throw on a cute pair of flat sandals.

The best thing about a maxi dress for us short ladies is that it creates the illusion of extremely long legs – something that is yes, sadly just an illusion for me. Not only are they comfortable, but they’re lightweight and so cute for summer.

I paired mine with a panama hat I picked up on my trip to Puerto Rico and the new GiGi New York mini taylor tote (a slightly smaller version of one of their staples). I’ve been carrying this salmon beauty around everywhere as it’s the perfect size for summer errands!

If you’re around this evening, you have to check out my friend Danielle Nicole’s new jewelry line that will be on HSN later tonight. She sent me a piece as a preview and I’ve been getting nonstop questions on where to get it. Hope you’re having a great week, just 2 more days to the weekend!
