5 Ways To Wear Gingham

5 ways to wear gingham, gingham top, white house black market

Lemons may be having their moment this summer, but gingham will always be a mainstay in terms of summer prints. From picnic baskets to blankets, gingham is a print that most associate with summer itself.

It’s been one of my favorites for quite some time now, and I continue to pick up new pieces every year (even if I don’t really need to).

Some people are a lot more intimidated by the print and how to wear it – and I get that. It’s a little busy and sometimes difficult to pair with other colors without looking too over the top. My thoughts with gingham are to usually keep it simple. I go with plain or lighter pieces and let it stand out and sometimes add in a colorful accessory, like these earrings.

If you’re looking for options on how to wear gingham this summer, look no further!

1. As A Top

I spotted this gingham ruffle sleeve top at White House Black Market earlier this summer and knew it would be a perfect summer top – easy to wear with shorts or even white pants or jeans and a great base for some colorful accessories!

2. As A Dress

I had a gingham dress that I loved – it’s a great summer staple to throw on for daytime activities or after a long day at the beach. I’m a big fan of this cold shoulder version and this off the shoulder version for a little fancier occasion, like a date night.

3. Swimsuit

I found a gingham swimsuit that I loved at the beginning of the summer and sure enough they popped up everywhere! You could snag a cute little bikini or even a one piece.

4. As Bottoms

How cute is this gingham mini skirt? If you’re like me and have a ton of white tops, having a skirt like this makes for a more interesting and quick outfit than a regular denim skirt. If you’re daring enough you could even try pants like these!

5. In Your Accessories

One of the chicest ways to wear gingham in my opinion is a cute little scarf – it just begs for a convertible and oversized sunnies with it. These shoes are another subtle way to squeeze the print into an outfit.
