Windy City Weekend

It’s been almost 3 years since I moved from Chicago to New York and hard to believe everything that has happened in that time frame. In the 3 short years I spent in the Windy City I met some of my best friends, soaked up every ounce of what the city had to offer, and totally understood what it meant to fall in love with the place that you live. Aside from the weather, there’s really nothing that Chicago doesn’t have going for it.

I saw Liz’s post the other day about leaving the city and reading through it reminded me of my journey moving away as well. I have so many fond memories from my first apartment there (that I picked out online and signed a lease for without seeing), weekend walks along the lake, and just spending as much time outside as humanly possible.

I’m headed back this weekend for one of my best friend’s weddings and am most excited to be taking MG with me for his first trip to Chicago. I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I’ll be to get to share a place that’s so special to me and was a part of how I ended up in New York with him. Just to be able to show him where I lived and a small taste of what this part of my life was like will be so much fun. We’ll be hitting a few of my favorite spots while we can outside of the wedding festivities, and I cannot wait to see our girl walk down the aisle!
