weekend warrior or wanderer?

Lately I’ve found myself in a constant battle come Friday night… to have a productive weekend or just bop around the city throwing my list of things to accomplish to the wind? Especially in the summertime, I absolutely love getting up on Saturday with a clean slate and no plans and walking/wandering as much as possible exploring my new neighborhood.

These days I’ve been using the weekends to accomplish everything that I cannot simply get done during the week after work. After a few weeks of nonstop action, I’ve realized I need to find a better balance between work, more work, play and relaxation time. I don’t know about you, but it’s getting harder and harder to find time for things that I know really do matter for my overall health and well-being… such as stretching. Talking to faraway friends for more than 10 minutes. Giving my mind a break from the endless to-do lists. Legit, serious dream, sleep. I could go on and on!

This weekend I am going to try and go halfsies.. we’ll see how it goes. The cold weather is not helping… all I want is a warm drink, a blanket and a few DVR’ed shows on backlog and I’m content! What are the ways that you keep this balance? I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas!
