One of the things I love about having this blog is being able to discover and share some of my favorite things that I see around the web with you guys. I started noticing shibori indigo pieces when I was chatting with a friend at MiH jeans about a shirt we’re going to be highlighting soon. Shibori is a Japanese method of dyeing cloth, pretty similar to what we know as tie-dye. The indigo color that you often see is a summer favorite of mine.

The next thing I knew, I was seeing it everywhere and on everything. From dresses and skirts, to bags, scarves and even tablerunners … shibori indigo is really popping up right now! I’d love to be able to DIY my own shirt or dress at some point, but sadly I don’t have a backyard or any yard for that matter. I don’t think my roommates would want our entire living room to become an area for dying nor would the City of Chicago enjoy me doing that on the sidewalk outside of my building. So in the meantime, I’ll stick to hunting down my favorites to buy! I’ve stalked out some of the best I can find below. What do you think of this look? Any favorites?

This week was pretty eventful! We had a best friend’s birthday, a surprise shower for our friend Blair, and have a going away party as well. Whew! I hope you all have a great weekend! If you’re not already, follow along with my weekend wanderings over on Instagram. See you next week!
