The first person that came to mind when I saw this coat was Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) from Scandal. It just says I’m a smart, polished woman who gets it done. Right? 

I’ve been channeling those vibes into this first month of the year and trying to stick to those non-resolutions I made. So far, so good! One of them was cooking and we made delicious tacos for dinner last night to close our the weekend.

Another was trying to narrow down my closet and curate a wardrobe full of my favorite pieces. This outfit is another example of that – head to toe these are a bunch of my current go-to pieces. I had been looking for white blouses that aren’t so basic, and this Aritzia one was perfect for that. You can’t see in all of the snaps, but the sleeves are exaggerated and make it more interesting. I snagged it on sale, but this Madewell version is almost identical. I have to say that after hesitating, these heels are the new star of the show lately. They can take any simple look up a notch and are so comfy! 

Now I’m off to channel Olivia Pope in my everyday life – not taking no for an answer, a glass of wine after a long day solves everything, and always wearing the white hat.
