New York City is one of the greatest places in the entire world for fashion inspiration. When I moved here 2 years ago (can you believe it?!) I was immediately taken by the fearless way that New Yorkers dress and express themselves. I’ve mentioned this before, but one of my favorite things about riding the subway is getting to see what people are wearing.

It’s a city that’s known for standing out and making things truly your own. That being said, I’ve found in my time here that it has actually helped me refine my style much more than when I was younger. Thanks to a relatively casual dress code at work I’m able to mix and match and figure out what pieces I wear most often. It’s also been the home to the smallest closet I’ve ever had in my entire life (until recently) meaning shopping less and investing key pieces more.

As I’ve gotten more selective with the pieces that I pick up I’ve found that the city has pushed me towards pieces that I will love and wear regularly. This little romper paired with my go-to denim jacket are the perfect base for a fun accessory, camo loafers or edgy heels. I’m always bringing my computer home from work or heels with me to change into, so I rely on this tote as my sidekick.

As I’ve moved my style and tastes have changed and I love seeing how your city influences your style. I’m excited to announce that I’m a part of the 50 Styles 50 States campaign over on People.com if you’re looking for inspiration or another familiar face to relate to if you’re living elsewhere!
