october breeze

The first day of October is always the first day that truly feels like fall to me. Maybe it’s growing up in Texas where August is the hottest month of the summer and September still has lingering heat. But, the leaves are changing and I feel the need to grab a coat every morning when I leave for work so it’s finally here! I apologize for the lack of posts since Fashion Week… things have been busy and I have been caught with less time to post my favorites. London, Paris and Milan all had their moments and there were some AMAZING shows. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to compile some of my favorite looks in a post next week!

As for me, I’m gearing up for a getaway to LA next weekend and have been able to spend some quality time back in Texas. As much as I love to travel, it’s true that there’s ‘no place like home’. It’s note quite fall here yet, but when I head back to Denver this week I’ll surely feel the need to start pulling out my coats and sweaters.

Major Online Shopping News: As of today, Neiman Marcus Last Call launched it’s website where you can now shop the store online. This is major – you used to have to seek out one of the clearance centers to get these great deals but now you can dangerously take them home at the click of a button. Thanks to my lovely friend Lindsay for the tip :)

I have been compiling a list in my head of looks that I want to try and some obsessions that I had with fall looks are growing. In terms of jackets, all I can think about is capes, capes and more capes! I love the variations and am still trying to nail down one that I like and can get a great deal on.

Other things I’m digging: Also, if you didn’t notice in my NYFW post I’m really into double finger rings and other quirky rings. This Erica Anenberg one in my post was on sale twice recently for about $50-ish and I am kicking myself for not getting it. I love the snake look because it’s different and you could even pair this ring with a dressy LBD (little black dress) and minimal accessories and use it as a statement piece. As I thought, the long skirt is coming back and I loved seeing it on the runway for Spring/Summer looks. I’m also ready for nude/matte color combinations – whether it’s your outfit or your makeup/accessories I’m loving all things pale green, brown, khaki, black, grey, and burgundy.
