As much as I tried to get ahead of my holiday shopping this year, inevitably I always end up needing a gift or two when I head home. I picked up a few gifts from the Union Square holiday market this year and always love bringing something back to Texas that you can only get in New York.

This year with my last minute shopping I’ve been trying to think more practically about things to get my loved ones that they would need and use. Since today’s one of the very last days to get your gifts in time, I rounded up some of my favorite things for someone with a full holiday schedule. One of my favorite ideas this time of year is to make a little care package for someone.

For heading home

I can’t travel without bringing a pair of headphones with me! Frends headphones are easy to fit in a clutch or purse and help drown out the holiday hecticness at the airport. I prefer to fill my ears with Michael Buble and old classics instead of all of the chaos.

For casual holiday shopping

Blank NYC classic skinny fit jeans are my go-to and always in my bag when I head home. They’re snug in all of the right places and perfect for a pair of boots and a flannel shirt.

Getting ready for holiday events

Dove oxygen moisture shampoo and conditioner for moisture and volume – two things I need when I go back to Texas.

For getting ready, I’ve been using Not Your Mother’s dry shampoo and Deja Vu extending hair primer to give my hair a little more volume and to make the curl last longer when I style it.

With this dress being more fitted, I love the On Gossamer 6-pack so that I can wear a pair that’s more hidden.

Holiday party ready

For pairing with a cozy vest, a long sweater or if you’re somewhere a bit colder this time of year a coat and scarf. I paired the dress with a pair of ankle strap heels for a holiday party ready look that’s still comfortable.

My nails will always need a little extra attention for parties, too! The OPI starlight collection has sparkly and colorful options and a top coat to make sure it lasts.

Post-holiday party pick me ups

Every great holiday party will often leave me feeling dehydrated and in need of a little beauty pick me up. My skin and eyes take the brunt of a fun night most often, so I rely on Lumixl Revitaleyes to combat dark circles, dryness and puffiness.

Garnier SkinActive cleansing water is an all-in-one cleanser and makeup remover. When I head home I usually try to bring fewer things with me and always like to make sure I can get all of my makeup off and my skin feel refreshed post holiday parties.

I’m starting to use the Dermaflash for exfoliation. In just 10 minutes you can remove skin imperfections and feel refreshed!

Last but not least, I love having a cup of tea after a long night out to detox my system. Kusmi Tea has the cutest packaging and a variety of flavors for every mood.
