This weekend was our first full one in the new apartment and I have to say, it was pretty perfect. One of the most exciting things about the move for us was the idea of changing neighborhoods and getting to explore a new area together. There’s really nothing quite like SoHo and it’ll always have a special place in my heart, but moving downtown meant more space and exciting new beginnings.

Saturday we spent a good part of the day furniture shopping and putting the finishing touches on our closet! More to come on the details, but let’s just say the Container Store for the win. We had plenty of time to start exploring the neighborhood this weekend and we’re super close to one of the coolest and in my opinion untapped areas of the city.

If you’ve never heard of Seaport make a point to swing by the adorable waterfront area on your next trip. It’s quiet, quaint, and has an adorable coastal vibe that transports you out of Manhattan. We walked around making a mental list of places to try and checking out the restaurants and bars that we’ll definitely be frequenting (especially before summer ends). Lobster rolls and summer beers – tell me that doesn’t sound amazing!

This floral maxi dress is the perfect number for doing just that. With a small slit in the front and an easy tie waist it’s a great day-to-night number that you can take into the fall with a light jacket and booties. Paired with my favorite new sidekick from Lo & Sons it’s an effortless summer look that I’m head over heels for.

As crazy as the entire moving process is the first chance you have to settle in and enjoy your new spot is the absolute best feeling. Moving to a new neighborhood means finding a new coffee shop, dry cleaner, favorite bar, and of course a solid nail salon. We’re 2 for 4 so far and working on the rest! What’s on your list of things that you do when you move into a new neighborhood?
