7 Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas

valentine's day, flowers, flower delivery, urbanstem flowers

Valentine’s Day is not a holiday that we celebrate as a couple, but in general I’m a big believer in surprising your loved one. MG does an incredible job of making me feel special on a regular basis. Honestly, the smaller gestures are the ones that mean the most in my book. Whether it’s going out to get me coffee, doing the dishes or cleaning up the apartment before I get home from a long day, or surprising me with a glass of wine when I walk in the door he’s always keeping me on my toes and looking to put a smile on my face.

While we stay in for Valentine’s Day and cook at home, it’s a fun excuse to try a new restaurant if you’re not the cooking type. Whether you’re trying something more interactive, like Korean BBQ, or try a cute new restaurant in your neighborhood you can really make this day whatever you would like.

For all of you who are mildly panicking and aren’t sure what to do for your special someone, here are 7 ideas that you can order or get by Thursday:

1. Pampering products

There’s nothing like a face mask and a glass of wine after a long day–here are a few tried and true that she’s sure to love:

Fresh’s Lotus Youth Rescue Mask  •  Summer Friday’s R&R Mask. •  La Mer Revitalizing Mask. • Eve Lom Rescue Mask  • Dr. Brandt Recovery Sleeping Mask

2. Glamsquad (or a blowout at her local hair spot)

I’m a huge Glamsquad fan. She can treat herself to a blowout or my personal favorite, a manicure at home. I tried it once out of necessity and it was not only more relaxing than the nail salons near me, but higher quality and the same price. The best kind of pampering is not having to dry or do your own hair, so a blowout never fails.

3. Bathrobe

There are so many types of robes, but you really can’t go wrong with a classic robe like this one from Parachute. Slipping into this after a long hot shower makes home feel like a luxurious escape and stay at a hotel. I’m a big fan of soft jersey robes, like this one from Cosabella because of how light and comfortable they are.

4. Champagne flutes (and champagne, too)

If you’re like us and prefer to just cook a romantic dinner at home for the occasion but still want to surprise her, I love the idea of getting her two new champagne coupe glasses and a bottle to celebrate. I know everyone usually has flutes, but I’m a sucker for the old fashioned vibe of coupe glasses. The best part is that every time you use them she’ll think of how you surprised her “that one Valentine’s Day” and they’ll forever be special.

5. Cosmetics case

This nested travel set from Cuyana is one of the best little gifts you can give for just about any occasion. It’s thoughtful, beautifully made, and will be something she uses over and over again. You make it extra personal with her initials, too!

6. Sleep Mask

I’m currently one my third version of this Slip Sleep Mask that I wear just about every night, especially with how bright our bedroom is. I’ve tried a bunch and this is the most gentle on your skin and definitely the most comfortable.

7. Flowers

Every woman loves getting flowers, but the best flowers are unexpected. Surprise your lady with flowers on Valentine’s Day and go ahead and buy some extra credit to plan ahead for a bouquet 2 weeks after, just because. I have used a handful of delivery services, but Urbanstem is one of my favorites because of their selection and how well packaged they are when they arrive. The Lovebird is gorgeous!

Whether you’re treating yourself, staying in with gal pals or going out with your significant other here’s to hoping your day is full of love! We’ll be cooking up something delicious at home again this year – it’s our favorite way to acknowledge the day!
